Manual stages are designed to provide precise, high-resolution travel over any combination of the six linear degrees of freedom. More importantly, however, they constrain any form of unwanted movement in the other angular or linear degrees of freedom: pitch, yaw, roll, as well as x-, y-, or z-axis translation. Linear Stages XY, XYZ

We offer a wide range of Manual linear translation stages which are designed to provide precise, high-resolution travel over any combination of the three linear degrees of freedom. They are frequently used in applications such as microscopy, metrology, optical fiber alignment, optical delay lines, interferometry, or wherever exact linear position is required. We offer the largest selection of linear translation stages to meet virtually any application.

Rotation Stages

We supply manual rotation stages that are designed to provide full 360-degree coarse as well as fine angular travel over a single rotational degree of freedom, most commonly yaw.  Some versions of our rotation stages have a center aperture to allow the rotation of polarization optics. Rotation stages are frequently used in applications such as spectrometry, polarimetry, or wherever exact rotational position is required.

Goniometer Stages

We supply goniometer translation stages, which is the type of rotation stage where the axis of rotation is situated parallel to and above the mounting platform. Industries that utilize goniometer stages include research, bio-medical, life sciences, astronomy, metrology, semiconductor, and more. Tilt Platforms

Tilt platforms are generally used to adjust the angle of the platform plane relative to a mounting surface plane.

High Vacuum Manual Stages

These stages are made for use in 1E-6 Torr vacuum or clean room environments and feature Opto Sigma’s EXC™ precision bearing ways.

These bearing ways are not separate parts, as with competing stages, but processed directly into the body and base of the stage resulting in the highest stiffness, straightness and smoothness of any stage on the market. They remain unmatched in overall performance to this day.

These stages are made completely from hardened 440C stainless steel for excellent cleanliness and corrosion resistance. Both the stage and the stainless steel micrometer head (included) have vented attachment holes and are lubricated with a high-grade vacuum grease (YVAC2).
