Single frequency lasers, also known as single wavelength lasers, operate in a single resonator wavelength mode. With this single longitudinal mode operation, these lasers emit almost monochromatic beams due to the narrow linewidth and low phase noise, providing long coherence lengths. Laser 2000 has a wide variety of single frequency lasers, for wavelengths across the IR, visible and UV spectrum.
Within the Laser 2000 low noise and single frequency laser range are DPSS lasers based on proprietary, alignment-free monolithic resonators. These single longitudinal mode laser models have coherence lengths greater than 10m. The monolithic resonator guarantees the long coherence length, narrow spectral linewidth, frequency stability and Mode hop free operation. Laser crystals used include Nd:YAG, Nd:YVO4, Nd:YLF; and Yb:YAG to achieve fundamental frequencies in the infrared and with harmonics in the red, green, blue and UV.
Low noise is an advantage in laser applications where accurate, precise measurements or movements are needed. Where laser images are taken on a fast time scale, a steady reference is required. Consequently, images need to be based on the same output power. Laser 2000 provides a range of low noise lasers, both single mode and multi-mode, CW and pulsed.
The monolithic cavity DPSS low noise lasers offered by Laser 2000 guarantee a low noise, mode hop free and therefore stable operation. Noise on these laser models is less than 0.2% rms.
