Smart NA

The Smart Network Access (SmartNA™) System is a flexible and customisable TAP solution which works as a portable solution as well as an enterprise solution custom fit for any datacentre, no matter the size.

SmartNA™ Modular TAPs are hot-swappable, allowing them to be used interchangeably with any of the SmartNA™ Chassis. Once you have installed the Smart Network Access System into your infrastructure, changes can be made easily, economically and without interrupting your network traffic.

SmartNA™ Chassis Options:

All SmartNA™ Chassis are built to hold any SmartNA™ TAP module. This flexibility allows you to customize your TAP solution to your exact specifications, while still leaving room for expansion.

  1. Portable Chassis - For on the fly monitoring - holds one TAP module
  2. 1U Aggregating and Filtering Chassis - Enterprise design which holds 4 TAP modules. Aggregating backplane allows aggregation across all modules, traffic filtering, full SNMP and web GUI for configuration available.
  3. 2U High Density Chassis - Built for high density, this holds up to 12 TAP modules in 2U of rack space - save money, power & rack space by powering the entire unit with only 2 power supplies

SmartNA™ Modules:

All TAP modules are hot-swappable, fully configurable and available with Copper, Single mode Fibre, Multi-mode Fibre or SFP cage ports.

  1. Breakout/Aggregation/Regeneration Modules - Configurable as a Breakout TAP, Aggregation TAP or Regeneration TAP
  2. Aggregating Backplane Modules - Aggregates or Regenerates traffic sent to the backplane to and from multiple sources for complete flexibility
  3. Filtering Modules - Filters Layer 2, 3 and 4 traffic as it passes along the backplane.
  4. Virtually Inline (V-Line™) Bypass TAP Modules- Configurable as V-Line™ TAPs, Breakout TAPs, and Aggregating TAPs, and can switch between all three TAP modes without losing network link. Aggregation Mode supports Packet Slicing on the monitoring ports and Packet Injection.
  5. Control Modules - Allow users to manage the modules in the chassis. By using simple commands over SSH or from the secure web based GUI, the Smart Network Access System is easily configurable to achieve duplication, aggregation, filtering or to perform other administrative functions.

Smart NA-X

The Smart Network Access X (SmartNA-X™) System is a flexible and customizable 1G and 10G TAP solution. With advanced packet filtering capabilities and flexible port maps, it has the ability to filter 10G traffic to 1G tools or aggregate 1G links to a 10G port.

This next generation platform features a Drag-n-Vu user interface (UI) that allows users to fully configure the device in only a few minutes. Simply connect the ports you want and apply any filters you want for each connection. The advantage to this is visible any time you set up maps and filters using the GUI, as you just add the lines and filtering options you want, without needing to put anything in order or to rearrange what's already there when you want to add additional connections.

Chassis Options: All SmartNA-X™ Chassis are built to hold any SmartNA-X™ module.

The SmartNA-X 1U Chassis houses up to four SmartNA-X modules and allows you to TAP up to eight network links. Aggregate and/or filter all of the data to single or multiple monitoring ports or TAP a single link and regenerate the traffic to up to 14 monitoring ports. Because each modular TAP in the SmartNA-X System is fully configurable, there are endless possibilities for configuring the system to meet the specific needs of your datacentre.

The SmartNA-X chassis supports five independently operating TAP modules that are hot-swappable, fully configurable and available in various configurations of copper, single mode fibre, multi-mode fibre, and SFP/SFP+ ports. Slot 1 supports 1/10-Gbit/s TAP modules (coloured red), slots 2, 3 and 4 support 1-Gbit/s TAP modules (coloured blue). Slot 5 (rear) supports 10-Gbit/s TAP modules (2 ports only). Four ports on each module are used to TAP live traffic and direct it to output ports where network tools can be used to capture and monitor your network data. The management port provides access to the web UI and CLI, from where system and module settings can be managed.

TAP Module Options:

All TAP modules are hot-swappable, fully configurable and available with Copper, Single mode Fibre, Multi-mode Fibre or SFP cage ports.

Each module can be set up as a breakout TAP, aggregating TAP, SPAN Aggregator, SPAN Regenerator, filtering TAP or a combination of these.

SmartNA-X Modules are hot-swappable, allowing them to be used interchangeably within the chassis. Once you have installed the Smart Network Access X System into your infrastructure, changes can be made easily, economically and without interrupting your network traffic.

Smart NA 10G

Monitor your 10G network links without spending money on expensive 10 gigabit monitoring tools - these 10G products allow you to tap your 10G links while optimizing your existing 1G tools.

The SmartNA 10 Gigabit V-Line 1U Chassis with its modular design is the most flexible 10G Bypass solution available. Install up to four (4) SmartNA 10G V-Line modules in SR, LR, or ER to add a permanent Bypass TAP solution into your datacentre. Managed through an easy to use web interface, administration overhead is reduced and network uptime is increased.

This 10 Gigabit Tap can be configured as a Breakout TAP, Aggregating TAP, or V-Line (Bypass) TAP.

Exclusive bi-directional heartbeats monitor the health of the appliance and in the event of an appliance, network, or power failure, react instantly to maximize network uptime.

Supporting Bypass and Breakout TAP modes, network appliances can be used safely in-line or out-of-band to passively monitor the link. The in-line appliance can also be set offline for maintenance or upgrades without affecting the network, simplifying the management of your network tools. Flexible management through an https, SSH telnet, SNMP or a serial connection lets you select the solution that is right for your environment.
