The SH-10 laser safety shutter consists of a blade mounted on a rotary solenoid with a limited rotation angle. When the shutter is powered, the blade moves to the "ON" position and clears the path for the laser beam. When the power is turned off, the return spring of the shutter moves the blade to the "OFF" position and blocks the laser beam.
The SH-20 laser safety shutter consists of two single laser safety shutters on a single mount.
The standard blade of the SH-10 series of shutters is 0.01" thick black anodized aluminium and the standard blade of the SH-20 shutter 0.02" thick black anodized aluminium. These withstand 100 mW/mm² with a limit of 2 Watts of total power.

- Mounting Plate -M
The model SH-10-M shutter comes with a mounting plate that allows horizontal and vertical mounting. (The SH-10 has two studs in the rear for mounting)
- Long Life Operation -L
The model SH-10-L and SH-20-L laser shutters offer an operating lifetime of >50million cycles compared with the standard 2 million cycles.
- Boxed Components -B
The laser shutter is supplied inside an enclosed box, with a window for the laser light.
- Power Requirements -5, -12, -24
-5: 5V DC, 700mA (Standard System)
-12: 12VDC (or 15VDC), 300mA
-24: 24VDC, 160mA
