Laser 2000 supplies a range of computer controlled motorized linear slides, miniature linear actuators, motorized rotary stages, motorized mirror mounts, goniometers and other devices from Zaber Technologies. These products make the automation of sub-micron positioning applications quick, easy, and affordable. Controllers and stepper motors drivers are built-in. This reduces cost, device footprint and cable clutter. You can daisy-chain up to 254 Zaber devices on a single USB or RS-232 port. As power is transmitted through the data cables of most models, a single power supply can power multiple devices.

New motorized stages from Zaber: closed loop and vacuum compatible

Zaber have recently launched a new range of closed-loop stages, and have added to their vacuum compatible range.

"Closed loop" stages have an encoder that gives feedback of the position. This enables more accurate positioning and prevents slipping and stalling as the device is aware of its absolute rather than relative position. The A-LSQ-E stages are also Zaber's fastest yet, able to move at 1 metre per second.

The new high and low vacuum positioning devices add to a growing range of vacuum compatible stages. Zaber motorized positioners have built-in controllers, allowing them to be daisy-chained together. In addition, the power to the vacuum devices is transmitted through their data cables. In a vacuum chamber, this reduces the wiring and feed-throughs for multiple devices down to just one - other devices require one feed-through per device.
