Laser 2000 supplies a range of computer controlled motorized linear slides, miniature linear actuators, motorized rotary stages, motorized mirror mounts, goniometers and other devices from Zaber Technologies. These products make the automation of sub-micron positioning applications quick, easy, and affordable. Controllers and stepper motors drivers are built-in. This reduces cost, device footprint and cable clutter. You can daisy-chain up to 254 Zaber devices on a single USB or RS-232 port. As power is transmitted through the data cables of most models, a single power supply can power multiple devices.
The new ALIO range of nano-position robotics includes linear stages, rotary stages, tripods and hexapods. ALIO products are incredibly precise, as they focus on all error sources when looking at bi-directional repeatability. Rather than only examining errors in 2-D, i.e. accuracy and repeatability, ALIO minimises the error in all six sources of error in each axis (x, y, z, yaw, pitch and roll). This achieves 6 dimensional nanometre point precision.

As each axis has six sources of error, ALIO minimises the error in all to achieve 6-D nanometer point precision. The errors from one axis of motion are linear, straightness, flatness, pitch, yaw and roll. Other manufacturers only examine errors in 2-D, in terms of accuracy and repeatability. In fact, ALIO are in the process of helping NIST to develop new standards for point precision.
