LED based light engine for fluorescence microscopyOne microscope light source solution for all of your current and future fluorescent illumination needs. The Spectra X light engine contains six discrete outputs, to cover the whole visible spectrum. Combined with exchangeable filter modules, you have every wavelength for every fluorophor you need; now and in the future. These solutions are not just microscope light sources. They are light engines. These systems replace the entire ensemble of light sources, excitation filters, filter wheel, field diaphragm, aperture, shutter and controllers with a single, simple, easy to operate unit. Unlike traditional lamps, the output from the Spectra light engine does not decay or fluctuate significantly with time, or during the course of a multi-day experiment. A flexible solution for shared facilities, the Spectra light engine gives you precise control. The Spectra light engine range matches or beats the power levels of comparable metal halide and xenon lamps. In addition, precise intensity control allows you to select the ideal level for you work. This gives you the right light exposure, whether for simple immuno fluorescence or a complex live cell experiment. Lumencor light engines are true replacements for traditional microscope light sources. They are able to output one, several or all channels. This functionality even allows you to use the light engine for visual work in combination with multi-bandpass filters, or for imaging techniques that require simultaneous excitation of multiple fluorophores. A remote control accessory (RCA) gives you simple stand-alone control. This lets you look at a sample quickly, without fuss. The controller also provides you with advanced control through pre-programmable sequences. Protect your samples A primary concern of the biological microscopist is sample viability and well-being. Delivering too much light to a sample can cause phototoxic events. These interfere with normal cellular processes and can result in premature cell death. Too much light can also cause photobleaching of fluorophores. This limits the duration of otherwise long term imaging experiments. The use of solid-state LED technology eliminates stray UV and IR light that can damage cells. The fact that most filters do not block UV light is no longer a problem. In this way, the spectrally pure outputs already reduce photo-toxic events that occur while imaging samples. For further protection, the Camera Interface Accessory (CIA) takes the SPECTRA's timing and control to the next level of precision. The CIA allows the SPECTRA to run as master or slave in an imaging system. This direct control ensures the SPECTRA is perfectly synchronised with the camera and that the biological samples are exposed to the minimum amount of light needed for a given experiment. Spend more time on the important aspects of your work The light engine is always ready to use. The system never requires alignment or adjustments, and warms up to a stable state in seconds. The light engine always produces an aligned, uniform field of illumination across your entire sample. In addition, valuable time is not lost to bulb changes or maintenance.
