KBAL Style Laser Safety Eyewear

  • High power broad band protection

The KB-AL style laser safety eyewear from Laser 2000 delivers high protection across a broad operating wavelength range. This eyewear is particularly suited as protection against YAG, YLF and other rare doped solid state lasers. They are also particularly useful for other high power infrared lasers such as optical parametric oscillators and high power infrared and near infrared laser diodes. In addition to this, they are suitable for use with frequency doubled and tripled IR lasers.

The eyewear comprises two parts, the filters and the frames. The filters are made of a volume absorbing glass that is pigmented to absorb specific wavelengths. These filters provide high levels of attenuation at laser wavelengths whilst providing a high degree of visible light transmission across the visible band. This results in a unique combination of high protection levels with high levels of visibility. At the same time, the use of uncoated glass makes the filters particularly hard wearing and durable.

The frames are manufactured from polymer coated aluminium for the highest level of protection and durability. Unlike the standard goggle frames which use unreinforced plastic, the aluminium reinforcement ensures that the higher energy and power densities may be withstood by the eyewear. The frames are padded for extra comfort and the elasticated strap is fully adjustable to cater for different users. In addition, the goggles are of sufficient size to allow standard prescription spectacles to be worn under them.
