UV Bandpass Filters

The Laser 2000 standard range of narrow band pass filters has been extended into the UV with the addition of the new family of NBP filters. These filters utilise proprietary coatings applied directly either to VUV grade MgF2 or Ca F2 substrates depending on wavelength and level of performance.

Numerous coatings are available for use at different centre wavelengths ranging from 122nm to 200nm. In addition to the different coating options, filters are available in three different sizes and physical formats; "open-faced", where the coated substrate is provided for OEM applications; "sealed edge" where the coated surface is sandwiched between two layers of substrate material and the edge sealed with a polymer; "mounted" where the sealed edge design is supplied is supplied with an aluminium mounting ring instead of a polymeric edge sealant.

These filters may be used over an operating range of -20 to +10 °C but exhibit a peak wavelength shift of approximately 0.01nm/°C with temperature. In addition, they are designed to be used with beams of normal incidence. The typical out of band blocking provided is 10E-4 (N-type) and 10E-3 (B-type).
